RECONSTRUCTION FROM US-41 TO DUNN AVENUE FDOT SARASOTA COUNTY
Watson Civil was hired by the Florida Department of Transportation on this complex project to replace the failed drainage system along 7.4 miles of heavily congested Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, FL.
In addition to the wholesale replacement of the drainage system, the improvements included roadway resurfacing, pavement reconstruction, signalization, ITS, concrete flatwork, and utility construction.
The project also included extensive coordination with local businesses and utility providers, 3,435 feet of PVC & Ductile Iron water main and 600 feet of 18” HDPE water main via directional drill.

Crews worked 24 hours a day to reduce the impact to the public and to meet the aggressive 535-day construction schedule.
